... To match with the iPhone 5 screen ?
Great app ! Professional. Perfect for travelers who want to record music on the go. Love it. Only problem is how to export the tracks. Dropbox upload is not accepting big recording. So I cant really export my songs.
Great app, easy to use and ideal to sketch a song. But with ios9 it crashes all the time, we need an update to fix it. Any chance to get the wifi function back?
...A lot! Its just gotta have bouncing or its not a real 4-track like the one The Beatles used, as they say in the text. A metronome click would be greatly appreciated too. I couldnt download all tracks, some bug prevented me from doing it.
excelent to record ideas on the go, or even actually recording tracks. I use it with iRig and later use the tracks on garage band. That’s really a great and easy to use setup
Good update!runs better now.i didnt loose any song.if i use my headphones +the build in iphone mic,i cannot hear the current track i am recording.that would be great. still a lovely program.what about Pingpong ;-)
Please provide the update soon that brings back audio paste! And Ill give back all stars.
This is a very nice multitrack recorder with a great interface and excellent sync between the tracks. If youre a musician then this is a godsend. It is the first Ive seen with the ability to record multiple songs. The interface is well laid out - its easy to use while making it difficult to accidentally erase tracks. The sound quality is great - the built-in compression really makes the sound warm and full. A great feature would be to be able to export songs to iTunes as mp3 or WAV files, to import tracks from iTunes (such as beat tracks). All software takes time to develop so these complaints are nitpicking. The reason I gave this app only four stars is Ive encountered one crash and had problems with tracks not recording but a reboot fixed the problem (no, my phone isnt jailbroken). Seeing as this app is brand new its forgivable that it might have a glitch or two, but given the professionalism of the other aspects of the app I expect many of these problems to be ironed out soon. Overall Im EXTREMELY pleased with this product and look forward to its bright future. Definitely the best multitrack for iPhone so far. The ability to multitrack on you phone is priceless. Buy it!
A metronome would really help musicians be accurate when layering tracks. Theres another multitrack recorder called 4track that has this, but it cant save or export. If this got that feature it would be 5 stars. Also if there was a way to limit the input volume, but if thats a hardware thing not much can be done about it.
According to the developers website, the iPhone does not support input volume control. That is what is app lacks, but this isnt the developers fault. I did a couple of four track recordings with a small amp on both clean and distorted settings. As long as I wasnt striking the strings harshly it didnt clip, however, moving the iPhone farther away, or pointing the mic away from the source helps this. I tried recording a live band in a rehearsal space and it was just too loud to not clip, no matter what I did - its okay if you just want to get some rough ideas down and you dont mind the whole band sounding like Sonic Youth. Otherwise, it is very easy to use and the ability to download individual tracks over wifi is great. As another reviewer mentioned, the addition of a metronome would be useful. Ive experienced a couple of times where recording stuttered, but my iPhones been a little wonky lately, so Im not sure where that problem lies. The biggest plus for this App is that it allows to the ability to get stuff down quickly wherever you are. I like that a lot, and I am keeping it handy whenever I play an instrument. Great job. (Devs: please add a metronome. Also, the downloads need to be better defined so I dont have a million "track 1"s, etc. Another thought... make it so that I can take a picture for each track - the idea being that if I am playing around with settings on a pedal, I can photograph the settings for that track for future reference. Thanks.)
a great little app to have kicking around when I want to sketch out ideas on the go... cant wait to see what is store for future releases. wishlist features: click track, the ability to mute tracks without having to manually drop the volume, track bouncing (a little excessive maybe?). seeing the wav form and setting punch-ins would be cool, a totally over the top... its already great as is though...
Theres a few things that bug me though. It could really use a mute track and erase track button. Also when playing back through the iPhone speakers it plays verrrrry softly compared with other recording apps
First, this is an amazing app, I use it all the time, its worth all the money... This said, it needs some improvements and new functions. I work in the recording industry, and I know for a fact that, just like me, people would definitely pay a 100$, even more, for this app if: - There was a mute button for each tracks - Another window in which you could see each individual waves and have edit functions like: Copy, Past, Move, Delete, Duplicate etc.. - A punch in punch out function - A click - A Sequencer and a sampler with drum samples - The option to load audio files to a track - More tracks - The possibility to monitor while you record - A wave editor - Basic effects that could be inserted to each tracks (Equalizer, reverb, compressor, limiter) I work at a music store, and we sell thousands of portable recorders, there is a market for this. For those who knows where Im going with this, just imagine if we would have this directly on our iPhones!! Lets push this even further.. Imagine if a company would sell an adapter that would have a stereo output, so we could plug in any headphones and an input so we could plug in a microphone, or a guitar or even a synthesizer!? I have no clue what are the limits of the iPhone, but just imagine if FourTrack and BeatMaker would merge together!! It would be crazy! This is possible.. This said, theres a few bugs with FourTrack: - While a song is playing, if you dont stop the song before going back to the beginning of the song, some tracks will be out of sync. The workaround: while the song is playing, press stop, press the left arrow to go back to the beginning of the song, press play, and everything will be in sync. - Sometimes, before arming a track to record, you will monitor the microphone with delays and glitches.. But as soon as you start recording it stops, so its not a big issue. - Most of us will do multiple takes of the same track in order to get the performance wanted, it would be great if it wouldnt automatically switch to the next track when you stop recording. I think FourTrack has a lot of potential.. what do you think?
What an increaible app. Would love to see delete track option...
Dont believe what they say about being able to transfer the audio file to your computer. It only works for very short recordings. Anything longer than a couple of minutes or so and the app hangs when you try to transfer the file. You have to reboot your iPhone to escape. Very disappointing. Really bad bug that makes the app virtually useless. Hopefully theyll fix it pronto.
This is a great application but it does need three things in its updates: ( in order of importance) 1: a way to delete undevidual tracks, 2: playback played though the loud speacker rather than the ear piece speaker (for playback without headphones) and; 3: a metronome with and optional audible feature, Thanks for the great cost efficient alternative for the up and coming
Would be nice to " play " with it , but there seems to be a BIG PROBLEM with the microphone HEADSET with the 2nd generation I-TOUCH , It makes your voice sounds like DONALD DUCK ... . Please Mister D signer fix it up ... J_s_s !!! . ZAP
This helped me get 2 song ideas out that Ive been trying to express. It made my acoustic guitar sound way better than expected from the iphone mic. If it had undo/delete options it would be gold. Peace.
Like most people mentioned, it plays back through the small speaker instead of the louder one so thats a little annoying if theres a bunch of background noise. Its not really a problem if you have headphones though, and its probably fixable with an update. Overall great app, dont regret paying the 10 bones at all.
